We are dedicated, highly professional, licensed psychotherapists throughout the state.
We are part of a national organization, American Mental Health Alliance-USA.
The California chapter has members from all the psychotherapeutic disciplines, for example: psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychiatrists. When you work with one of us, you will find an experienced professional who can help you with:
- Short-term problems
- Old issues that have cropped up again in your life, or chronic difficulties, such as bipolar disorder or recurrent depression.
- Conflicts within your relationships and family, such as parenting, childhood, and teen problems; relocating elders; coping with infertility.
- "People problems" at work
- Confusion or guilt about dealing with a disabled person in your family (older adult, child, spouse)
- Emotional problems that affect your life and relationships, such as depression, anxiety, or panic.
- Developmental (stage-of-life) problems during menopause, mid-life,adolescence, aging, end-of-life.
Growing up can be a challenge these days. In childhood and adolescence, sometimes child behavior appears that is confusing and uncomfortable for parents. For example: separation anxiety, temper tantrums, reactions to divorce, attention deficit disorder, learning problems, childhood depression. All of these conditions can be helped by a sensitive child therapist.
We are concerned that the ethical tradition of psychotherapy has been affected by for-profit healthcare. We believe that our clients have the following rights:
- Patient confidentiality and privacy
- Freedom to choose a personal therapist
- Control over the length of therapy
Some of us accept insurance reimbursements, Medicare, or MediCal, TriCare. You can find a therapist near you by clicking on "Therapist Locator" at the left of the screen. If you have difficulty locating a therapist, contact the California Site Administrator, california@americanmentalhealth.com
